Beyond delivering trustworthy, high-quality molecular data, MI strives to ensure that practitioners have the scientific support and practical guidance needed for the appropriate use and interpretation of microbial biological tools (MBTs). With this commitment to knowledge transfer, MI routinely leads trainings to educate stakeholders, regulators, and the next generation on best practices and innovations in MBTs.
University Guest Lectures
MI is honored to have delivered guest lectures at numerous academic institutions worldwide. In the first half of 2026, we have already shared our expertise and enthusiasm for MBTs and remediation with students at the University of Tennessee, Baylor, Carnegie Melon, and Cornell. Drawing on over 34 years of industry experience, we engage students with examples of real-world applications for scientific advances, research commercialization, and successful partnerships between academia and industry.
Supporting Regulatory Agencies
MI is proud to collaborate with regulatory agencies, bringing our scientific expertise and in-house capabilities to support government programs and strengthen regulatory compliance. We regularly provide training for state and federal agencies on how MBTs can serve as powerful lines of evidence in routine site assessments at Superfund sites, Brownfield projects, and more. As the use of MBTs has increased worldwide, MI has extended trainings to global regulatory bodies, including Taiwan’s EMA, CETESB in Brazil, and South African regulatory groups.
MI scientists also collaborate on guidance documents and participate in Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council (ITRC) projects, including the Environmental Molecular Diagnostics, Petroleum Hydrocarbons, AI/ML in the Environmental Field, and Phytotechnologies teams.
